Day 01: Departure for a Sacred Journey
Our spiritual journey begins at Ernakulam Junction. We board the Mangaladweep Express (Train No. 12617) at 01:25 PM, leaving the coastal beauty of Kerala behind as we head toward the spiritual landscapes of Maharashtra.
Traveler’s Note
Use this time on the train to bond with your fellow travelers and mentally prepare for the spiritual experiences ahead.
Day 02: Welcome to Nasik
After a scenic rail journey, we arrive in Nasik at 04:35 PM. For those preferring to travel by air, your journey starts today from Kochi. We will pick you up and check into our hotel for a restful night.
Pro-Tip
Nasik is known as the “Wine Capital of India,” but for pilgrims, it is the gateway to some of the most sacred sites in the country.
Day 03: Exploring the Spiritual Roots of Nasik
Today is dedicated to Nasik’s rich heritage. We begin with a visit to the Trimbakeshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Our exploration continues with the ancient Nasik Caves, the sacred Sita Gufaa, and the Sri Kalaram Temple. We also visit the Anjaneri Hills, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
- Key Highlights: Muktidham Mandir , Someshwar Temple , and an optional visit to Sula Vineyards.
Traveler’s Note
The Trimbakeshwar Temple is located about 30 km from the main city, so we start early after a full breakfast.
Day 04: Shirdi Sai Baba and Shani Shingnapur
We leave Nasik after breakfast and proceed to the world-renowned Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir to seek the blessings of the Great Saint. Later, we visit the unique Shani Shingnapur Temple, where houses famously have no doors, before settling in Aurangabad for the night.
Pro-Tip
When visiting Shirdi, maintain a calm and meditative mindset to truly experience the peace of the shrine.
Day 05: The Architectural Marvel of Ellora
Witness the breathtaking beauty of the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We also visit the Grishneswar Temple (another Jyotirlinga), the historic Panchakki, and the formidable Daulatabad Fort.
Traveler’s Note
Ellora consists of 34 monasteries and temples, so wear comfortable walking shoes for extensive exploration.
Day 06: Ajanta Caves and the “Mini Taj”
Today we visit the Ajanta Caves, famous for their exquisite rock-cut Buddhist frescoes. Upon returning to Aurangabad, we stop at Bibi Ka Maqbara, often referred to as the “Taj of the Deccan” due to its striking resemblance to the Taj Mahal.
Pro-Tip
Photography is restricted in certain areas of the caves to preserve the ancient paintings; always check for signage.
Day 07: The Road to Pandharpur
After breakfast, we embark on a 316 km drive to Pandharpur. Upon arrival, we head straight for a Darshan at the magnificent Panduranga Temple, the center of devotion for the Varkari sect.
Traveler’s Note
The drive to Pandharpur takes several hours, but the spiritual energy of the destination makes every kilometer worth it.
Day 08: Immersed in Devotion at Pandharpur
Spend the day exploring the local sacred sites of Pandharpur. We participate in a ritual bath in the Chandrabhaga River before visiting the Vishnupad Temple and the Pundalik Temple. The day is filled with the chants of “Vitthal Vitthal”.
Pro-Tip
The riverbank at Pandharpur is very busy during Darshan hours; stay close to the group manager for a smooth experience.
Day 09: Kolhapur’s Mahalakshmi to Mahabaleshwar
Our journey continues toward Kolhapur (185 km) for a powerful Darshan at the Mahalakshmi Temple. Following the visit, we drive 201 km to the hill station of Mahabaleshwar, arriving late at night.
Traveler’s Note
Kolhapur is famous for its spiritual significance and its unique local culture—keep an eye out for traditional crafts.
Day 10: Scenic Mahabaleshwar to Pune
Enjoy a morning of local sightseeing in the lush landscapes of Mahabaleshwar. In the afternoon, we transfer to Pune for our final overnight stay of the tour.
