Day 1: Gateway to the Kingdom – Arrival & Phuentsholing

Your adventure begins at Bagdogra Airport. From there, we drive toward the border town of Phuentsholing, your first introduction to Bhutanese charm.

  • Border Transition: Complete all necessary immigration formalities upon arrival.
  • Relaxation: Check into your hotel and enjoy a quiet evening to prepare for the ascent into the Himalayas.
  • Meal Plan: Dinner is included.

Traveler’s Note: Keep your Passport (with 6 months validity) or Voter ID handy for immigration. These are the only two valid documents for Indian nationals entering Bhutan.


Day 2: Scenic Ascents – Phuentsholing to Thimphu

After breakfast, we leave the border behind and wind our way up toward the capital city, Thimphu.

  • Spiritual Stops: Visit Milarepa Lhakhang, a peaceful monastery near Kharbandi.
  • Natural Wonders: Marvel at the Wangkha Waterfall and the Gedu Stupa, which offers panoramic mountain views.
  • The Confluence: Stop at Chuzom, where the Thimphu and Paro rivers meet, before settling into your hotel in Thimphu.

Traveler’s Note: The mountain roads are winding. if you are prone to motion sickness, carry appropriate medication to enjoy the scenic drive comfortably.


Day 3: Valley of the Fortress – Punakha Day Trip

Today is dedicated to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan.

  • Dochula Pass: Stand at 3,100m and take in the panoramic views and the 108 memorial stupas.
  • Fertility Temple: Enjoy a scenic village walk to Chimi Lhakhang.
  • Punakha Dzong: Explore this majestic fortress situated at the confluence of two major rivers.
  • Suspension Bridge: Walk across Bhutan’s longest bridge for stunning valley views.

Day 4: Cultural Immersion – Thimphu to Paro

Before heading to Paro, we explore the cultural landmarks of Thimphu.

Day 5: The Iconic Ascent – Tiger’s Nest or Chele La Pass

On Day 5, you can choose your own adventure.

  • Option 1: Tiger’s Nest Hike: A full-day guided hike to Taktsang Monastery, Bhutan’s most iconic spiritual landmark clinging to a cliffside.
  • Option 2: Chele La Pass: Drive to the highest motorable road in Bhutan (3,988m) for views of Mt. Jomolhari.

Traveler’s Note: The Tiger’s Nest hike is physically demanding but deeply rewarding. Start early and stay hydrated! Please note that lunch expenses on this hiking day are not included.


Day 6 & 7: Farewell to the Mountains – Return Journey

We begin our descent back toward the plains.

  • Final Views: Stop at the Paro Airport Viewpoint for a final photo of the valley.
  • Return to India: Drive back to Phuentsholing and proceed to Siliguri for an overnight stay.
  • Departure: After breakfast on Day 7, we transfer you to Bagdogra Airport for your flight back home.
